Dit is een alinea waarin we beschrijven wie we zijn en wat we doen. Onze instelling is toegewijd aan het bevorderen van kennis en intellectuele groei door middel van een breed scala aan onderzoeksactiviteiten. Deze tekst schetst onze toewijding aan het uitvoeren van hoogwaardig onderzoek dat een significante bijdrage levert aan ons vakgebied.
Caroline Vandekinderen (1984)
holds a PhD in Educational Sciences and is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Social Work and Social Pedagogy at Ghent University.

Griet Roets (1977)
holds a PhD in Educational Sciences and is currently an Associate Professor of Social Work in the Department of Social Work and Social Pedagogy at Ghent University.

Partners
We are actively working on deepening and disseminating insights in order to maximize the impact of the research on social engagement in combating child poverty.
In Ghent, we also collaborate citywide with the Education Center Ghent (Onderwijscentrum Gent). The insights gathered from Watersportbaan are actively shared during learning network sessions with a diverse range of education stakeholders across different neighborhoods in Ghent.
Together with the Education Center Ghent, we are also organizing a master’s thesis workshop in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Urban Academy Consortium (Stadsacademie), in which various master’s students in social work, educational sciences, and orthopedagogy conduct theses to document innovative initiatives in education in Ghent.
In Ghent, we actively collaborate with all actors connected to the Youth Atelier in Watersportbaan, in close cooperation with the neighborhood coordinator Evelyne Deceur.
